Unit for echocardiography in Mostar Clinical Hospital started in 1987. We examined total of 3342 patients till now. Good team in echocardiograpy unit is of great importance. Nurse should have additional education for echocardiography unit. Except technical parameters (dateing of patients, collecting findings-X-ray, internal medicine specialist examination, ECG) important is technical prepare of patient for TV, TT measuring and filling the form and computer with patients data. In year 2000. we performed 332 examinations: to age of 40. 85(25.6%) of patients, age 40-60 131(40%) of patients, from 60 up 109 (32.80%) of patients. There was 178 (53.6%) male patients and 154(46.4%) female patients. In conclusion, nurse is involved in functioning of echocardiography unit. Nurse should complete additional education for that purpose. Nurse records standard values and ECHO scan of the heart. Those findings sholud be checked out and corrected by physician. In that way nurse ease and accelerate obligations in echocardiography unit.
